About Outpost
Outpost is a free daily briefing on cybersecurity, modern warfare technology and geopolitics and geodata, compiled automatically from open sources. Every story links to the outlet that reported it, so you can check the original in one click. Two further pages, Breaking and Dark web, follow fast-moving incidents and unverified claims; they link to the original post or listing and mark what has not been checked.
What you will find
- Cyber: breaches, campaigns, advisories and research from CISA, vendors and the security press.
- CVEs: the newest vulnerabilities CISA says are being exploited, with severity scores from NVD.
- Warfare: drones, electronic warfare, missiles, air defence and the systems behind operations.
- Geopolitics: strategy, the geo wars, GNSS jamming and spoofing, space and satellite security.
- Breaking: a desk of fast-moving cyber incidents, conflict reports and market moves, collected every five minutes from X accounts and news feeds. Anything that is only a third party’s claim is marked unverified.
- Dark web: claims from ransomware leak sites, forums and social media, rewritten as neutral, unverified claims with general background and what defenders can do, plus recent breaches listed by Have I Been Pwned. It never republishes leaked data. A picture attached to a post is shown only as a small copy that stays blurred until you choose to reveal it, with a credit and a link to the original post. How the desks work.
- Today & Learn: the five stories that matter, a short checklist, and one concept per domain explained.
- OSINT Toolbox and the glossary: tools for checking the news yourself, and plain-language definitions of the terms.

Questions
What is Outpost?
A free daily briefing on cybersecurity, modern warfare technology and geopolitics, compiled automatically from open sources. Every story links to the outlet that reported it.
How often is it updated?
Every 30 minutes. A scheduled job collects stories from the previous 36 hours, ranks them and publishes a refreshed edition; the Breaking desk is checked every five minutes. Each page shows when it was last updated.
Do I need an account or to pay?
No. There are no accounts and no paywall. Outpost may show advertising, and promotes Cylist in a labelled card.
Can I trust the summaries?
Treat them as pointers. A language model writes each short summary from the outlet’s headline and snippet only, and any figure it cannot find in that source text is discarded. Read the original article before acting on anything.
Who publishes Outpost?
Outpost is published by the maker of Cylist, a threat-intelligence triage tool that is promoted on this site. Ranking is automatic, and no outlet or company can pay to be included or ranked higher.
How do I suggest a source or report a mistake?
Open an issue on GitHub. The whole pipeline, including the list of sources, is public.
Independence and disclosure
Ranking is automatic and ignores who is mentioned: nobody can pay to be included or moved up. Outpost may show Google ads, and it promotes Cylist, a threat-intelligence triage tool made by Outpost’s publisher, in a labelled card. Outpost is not affiliated with any government, military or news organisation. Nothing here is legal, financial or operational advice.
Corrections and contact
Found an error or a broken link, or know a feed worth adding? Open an issue on GitHub. This includes a claim on the Breaking or Dark web pages that is wrong or has been withdrawn. The code, ranking rules and source list are public at github.com/kyrillidis/outpostdaily under the MIT licence. You can also follow the RSS feed.
